Artist Illustrate the Faces He See in Everyday Objects and Turn Them into Funny Characters

If the work of Keith Larsen doesn’t put a smile on your face nothing will! He regularly spots funny expressions in ordinary things that others don’t see so often. To illuminate his creative visions, he illustrates these characters and brings them to life with silly stories.

Larsen’s ability to find inanimate objects with faces is the result of pareidolia, a psychological phenomenon that allows the mind to perceive facial patterns in places where they are not usually seen. He took inspiration in this phenomenon and provided ample ideas of some amusing and fantastical cartoon-style creations with distinct features and even personalities. Sometimes, the artist even writes stories about them to somehow bring them to life.

Whether it’s a tomato slice, a toaster, a bottle opener or a bag pack, Larsen is a master of giving life to inanimate objects with googly eyes and goofy smiles. Scroll on to see our curated list from his collection and enjoy peeps!
