Artist Transforms Strangers And Famous Characters Into Cartoons

A caricature is a rendered image showing the features of its subject in a simplified or distorted way through other artistic drawings.  The caricature is often thought to be kitsch. However, we think it can be more art than just cheap amusement and the talented artist Xi Ding proves it well.

He’s an international award-winning caricature artist based in Vienna, Austria who transforms strangers and famous characters into cartoons.  In his art, he highlights the main features of a character in a funny yet realistic way. He uses both the traditional and the digital medium for his caricatures. Michael Jackson, Jason Momoa and Marilyn Monroe are just a few famous people Xi Ding transformed. With over 10 years of experience, he is one of the fastest quick draw caricature artists who can draw up to 120 guests in an evening event and 160 guests in a full day event.

Listed up in this post are some of our favorite photos from Xi Ding’s collection. Scroll on and enjoy peeps!
